Are you interested in
classical history, literature and archaeology?
You may have studied classics at school or
university and wish to keep in touch with the thoughts, ideas and theories of modern
scholars. Or you may simply be fascinated by the ancient Greeks and Romans and their
influence on Western culture.
Either way, the Branch offers a programme of
lectures on the literature, history, art and archaeology of the classical world which will
appeal to you. Members are also welcome at events organised by the Schools' Service.
Tea is available before most lectures with a chance to meet other
members as well as the visiting lecturer. The speaker is usually entertained to dinner
after the meeting at a local restaurant and members are very welcome to come along.
Interested? Although you do not have to be a
member to attend lectures we would be delighted to welcome you as one. Simply print and
complete the application form and send it to the treasurer or bring it along to one of the
meetings.
